It is always intimidating to work for another wedding professional, especially another wedding videographer, like the bride, Emily.  But this was such an easy, joy-filled, wonderful wedding day.  I loved every second of it.   One need only watch a short bit of this film to see how much Matt and Emily love each other.  And....sooooo photogenic! Seriously, they looked georgeous no matter what and they were totally down to do crazy things, like spin on a merry-go-round while kissing, so we could get that perfect shot. I just can't help but smile when I watch this one.

Hello, World!- Rose Marie

Carpe Diem Video Productions is proud to announce we offer birth videography.  :-)   There is only one package and it comes with a highlight reel like the one you see at the bottom of this post (on DVD or Blu-ray) and 15-20 images (photographs) edited.  At this time, Lauren is the only videographer on our team offering birth videography, and we will be accepting only five per year. 

As a mom of two beautiful boys, I am sooooo very excited about this next chapter in our business.  I had a birth photographer for the birth of my second baby, Harvey, and I wouldn't trade those photos for anything. With that in mind, it is my goal for my mommy clients to feel about their birth video.

And, so, without further ado, let me present to you the very first "Hello, World!" video featuring the beautiful Ms. Rose Marie.  I am so honored to have been a part of this birth and to give this family something they will cherish indefinitely.

I find myself saying this about every video but I can't help it; this is one of my favorites! I love when couples write their own vows and these two did an amazing job. Their love for each other made for an amazing video and made our job all the more worthwhile! 

Also, just so we are all on the same page, we here at Carpe Diem do not discriminate against couples wanting to get married. This particular wedding occurred before the Supreme Court decision, but that made zero difference to us. Two people that love each other will always be able to book with us regardless of sexuality, religion, or race. Who you are is who you are and you love who you love. It infuriates me when I hear of vendors refusing clients based on reasons listed above. Our clients trust us to preserve memories of the most important day of their lives and we do not take it lightly. We get to know our clients very well and care for them very much. These two are no exception. But enough of my soapbox, please enjoy!

It is such an honor when a family trusts you to film not just one but two of their weddings! We filmed Carly's brother's wedding and it was such a pleasure to now capture hers! Carly and Scott had some wonderful moments on what turned out to be a very rainy day. But through the monsoon, they had a very emotional first look, beautiful vows, and some of the best letters to each other I have ever seen! Brooke not only had a really fun first dance with Michael, but then she and her bridesmaids filled the floor and gave a perfect 10 performance to Anaconda. This one is a must see. Part of what makes our job so great is seeing the two people in love living out the best day of their lives. This couple made the most of their wedding day and had some really fun, great friends to help them. The band rocked, the dance floor stayed packed, and the groom busted out some pretty spectacular moves!

I'm a big fan of the father of the bride makes a toast from the heart and this one does a bang up job. To the families of this couple, thank you so much for letting us capture your children's special day. To Ramsey and Michael, always seize the good stuff!

Details, details, details!  This wedding was full of them.  It was clear Meghan and her mother spent much time and effort making this day beautiful.  And fun!  Their guests loved celebrating this couple after a very long courtship.  And they had such a cute hashtag #finaLee2015.  

And probably the best farther of the bride speech to date. Hands down.

Oh, the holidays.  It was a busy time around this household.  We are finally wrapping up the last of our Christmas weddings and getting them shipped out.  And, so, I wanted to share one!  What is it about Christmas weddings that makes it feel so magical?

This beautiful couple and their gorgeous wedding day have been on my mind lately since I recently met with Taylor's twin (and I mean tw-win), Jordan and his seriously adorable (and fellow Chi Omega) Kylie.  I am soooooo excited about this wedding!  Jared had a great time filming this one with our friend and college, photographer  Randy Coleman.  I mean, seriously, how attractive is this couple, right?  And so obviously in love.  Congrats Brene' and Taylor!  And thank you for having us as part of your wedding day.

Santa came to the Keester house in full force.  We had a wonderful Christmas with love, joy, family, and a few trains/cars/trucks, etc.  I must admit feeling quite blessed when I looked around at my home filled with people I love and people who love my children.   And, if you have been to an event at our house before, you would know there will. be. toasts.... and crying.  I come from a long line of toast givers and share the joy of raising a glass to those I hold dear.  Anyway... as for the business...woah, can you say inquiry season?  So many inquiries, so little time.  Again, so blessed! Such a great problem for our little business. 

Ok! This is a fun group.  Seriously, we had such a good time laughing with Jacy and her family/friends.  This couple is full of joy and full of love.  I just feel honored to have been part of such a great wedding with such great people.  I hope you will enjoy.

Well, it is that time of year!  Love is in the air.  Seems like every day my facebook page blows up with another couple's engagement.  And, as a wedding professional, I have to say, I LOVE it.  The inquiries are rolling in and we are quickly booking our 2015 season... 2015. That sounds crazy, right?  Crazy as in, when I was a child I really thought I would have a hover board like Marty McFly.  But, alas, I have a mini-van.  (Jared says it is a sexy, soccer mom SUV-Minivan hybrid, but lets call a spade a spade, you know?)

Well, as I have been meeting brides this season a question that often arises is "Can I get all I want out of the basic package?"  And, in most cases, the answer is yes.  So, here is an example of a wedding where the basic package was the perfect amount of coverage...And, obviously, Jared nailed it.

Hey guys! It's Lauren.  Jared is in full swing of being a high school teacher and grading papers, so I have taken over the correspondence part of the business, meeting with the clients and handling the paperwork.  In a way, this is a reversion back to the way we used to do things, before I got bogged down with grad school.  Anyway, it has been really fun! I love meeting with potential brides and discussing all the details of their wedding day!

Our little boy Jude turns 3 this week!  I simply cannot believe it.  It seems like only yesterday Jared and I were getting married and considering what it would be like to be parents one day.  Now we are blessed with two crazy boys who fill our life with love, laughter, oftentimes frustration, and fun.  And between all that, we also film people's weddings!

Thank you to Rylee and Travis for having us as part of your wedding day.  Wow!  You have a TON of family and friends.  This was a lively and cheerful crowd, and it was so evident how excited everyone was for the couple.  I love the love in this one. (And, I got to go to Enid for the first time... I do love seeing every corner of this state!)  Enjoy!

Happy wedding day to these two! Such a great couple that absolutely nailed their Our Story shoot. Funny, sincere, but most important...from the heart. Everyone gets a little nervous at first during the shoot, but as long as what you say comes from here (points to chest), you can't go wrong!

I cannot convey what a pleasure it was to shoot this wedding. These two have a love that is what all love should be. You can see it in Kate's jumpy excitement, hear in John's voice, and feel it for the entirety of their video.

Watching Kate and John I'm undoubtedly sure will cause renewal, earlier proposals, but most of all, you will smile for the happiness these two feel for each other.

What a wedding season it has been! This will mark our 5th year as Carpe Diem Video! Our company is as old as our marriage because we chose not to get a videographer and it is our number one regret. We get to work with some amazing couples and capture them on their most special day!

These two had some of the best toasts I have heard! I got to film with Josh McCullock who does just exceptional work and this couple really made the job easy. Thank you Ashleigh and Kenton for letting us capture your wedding; it was an honor being part of your day.

Run, Run.

Sometimes your kid just drops his pants at the park. Your paternal instincts kick in and you grab the soon to be leaking cargo and run for some sort of cover. The other parents get it...they know. Non-parent Jared would have been lost in that moment...

Some might view this picture and wonder "what is he doing?"

I have been where you are...thought how you do. I used to not make financial decisions based on how much baby formula is this worth or time my day by nap times and lunch times and bath times and..... praise the maker, bed times. A father viewing this will know exactly what I am doing. I am a runner of peeing children, like my father before me.

So to all the Dad's out there, keep running.

Old Friends

My dear friends Jacqueline and Keystone are getting ready to have a baby, and Jared and I could not be more excited.  We simply LOVE these two.  We actually left our house on a Saturday night...yes, babysitter and all... and shared an evening with these two and some other friends and new acquaintances, to celebrate the newest member of their family, due to be arriving before we know it. 

As we celebrate, I cannot help but to be reminded how much fun this wedding was and how evident Jacqueline and Keystone's connection is.  Their love is bright.  And it is wonderful to be near it.  So, in honor of these two (who always have us laughing) I thought I would post this video.  I know it is a long video, but the dancing at the end is for sure worth a viewing.  (And there are several cameo shots by yours truly- wink)
